About Niki Mahon
Niki Mahon is a former finalist for the Startup of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year awards, in recognition of the success of her business, NIKITA (formerly Nikita by Niki). Niki started the enterprise as a from-home side hustle at the age of just 23, after leaving university and being unsure of her career direction. As of 2023, the sustainable homeware and jewellery business had turned over more than £3 million.
GIRL BOSS
Niki is the creator of the podcast GIRL BOSS, which shares empowering, raw conversations with women in business. Season two of the podcast will be available soon, delivering more insightful stories from businesswomen and how they defeated self-doubt to fulfil their dreams. Former guests have included Canadian evening wear designer Mani Jassal, public speaker and entrepreneur Shivani Pau, and gold weightlifting champion Karenjeet Bains.
NIKITA
NIKITA has recently undergone a major rebrand, boasting a new website, logo and brand message, with a much stronger focus on empowering women. The decision to rebrand the company was partly due to Niki’s decision to cease being an online influencer, which she was finding to be both distracting and detrimental to her mental health. Although Niki has lost some followers from her Instagram page as a result of the changes, she has relished the opportunity the rebrand has given her to engage a new audience of potential customers who appreciate the message that her company endorses.
Keen to grow NIKITA outside of social media, Niki has also launched her brand on various platforms including Etsy and notonthehighstreet.com, and significant growth has come about through the business’s presence on Amazon FBA (Fulfilment by Amazon) in the UK and USA. Via the latter marketplace, the company’s luxury cocktail shaker sold around 700 units a month before entirely selling out.
In February 2024, NIKITA’s pop-up store in John Lewis in Bluewater (via The Great Brand Exchange) was a huge success, with customers queuing to buy products for the week the store was open. The sales from this store were the highest of all pop-up stores in John Lewis outlets across the UK.
Kinara House
Niki Mahon’s passion for interior design led her to purchase a five-bedroom 1920s art deco house along with her husband, and they are now in the process of renovating the entire property. Those who are interested in following Niki’s progress on the project can keep up to date with the renovation via her Instagram page, where general tips on home renovation can also be found.
